Designed and developed for MeYou Health, the Path to Well-Being is a virtual Facebook zen garden where users can get a fun, fast and free assessment of their personal health and happiness by following the Path to Well-Being. Our challenge for the virtual zen garden was to take a large survey and gamefy it in order to help MeYou Health build a wellness index with their goal of 1000 completed surveys a day or at least 50% or greater survey completions.
Users are guided through six sets of short questions designed to assess their life evaluation, emotional health, physical health, healthy behaviors, work environment, and access to basic necessities of life, such as good food, shelter and healthcare. Each of the stops on the path are illustrated with animated soft drawings like a bridge over a pond with swimming koi or a sand garden with patterns being drawn into the sand. Leaves rustle in trees and a bonsai tree gets a trim. Sounds are soft and not distracting, crickets chirp and a wind chime tinkles while a gong welcomes each section.
The quiz takes less than five minutes to complete and generates an area of strength determined by the assessment area with the highest score for that user. The Path to Well-being demonstrates a fun innovative way to gather information and as a result the game achieved an 80% completion rate which MeYou Health deemed “phenomenal”.
